Cosmetic Procedure

  • Although the FDA has approved several types of laser for permanent hair reduction, results can vary. An individual’s metabolism, hormonal level, hair quality and number of hair follicles can all affect the outcome.

Moreover, normal hair goes through a growth cycle in three stages: the anagen, or growing phase; the telogen, or resting phase; and the catagen, or transitional phase. During the anagen phase, hair is susceptible to the lasers energy, but during the telogen and catagen phases, it is resistant.

At any one time, various percentages of body hair will be in each of these phases, making complete removal unlikely without multiple sessions.Typically five treatments are necessary to achieve the desired result.

  • The treatment time can vary considerably depending on the size of the area treated, and the particular technique used. A small area such as the upper lip may take only five minutes, while a larger area like the back or legs may take up to one hour. Since the laser affects only those hairs in the growing stage, and not all hairs will be in this stage at the same time, several treatments will most likely be needed to effectively remove all the hair from one area. Subsequent sessions will be scheduled at least a month apart. By this time you will probably begin to notice the re-growth of hairs that were previously in the resting stage.

  • The laser treatment itself can cause a slight tingling sensation. Most patients tolerate the procedure well. Because some areas of the body are more sensitive than others, topical anesthesia can be an option.

  • A laser produces a beam of highly concentrated light. The light emitted is well absorbed by the pigment located in hair follicles. The laser pulses for a fraction of a second, just long enough to vaporize the pigment, disabling numerous follicles at a time to eliminate or significantly impede the hair’s growth.

  • Depending on your individual case and the laser used, some people are satisfied after only one treatment session. Others may need additional sessions.

  • Your treatment provider may offer ways to make this a comfortable experience. Since everyone is different, and this depends on the level of treatment needed, it is best to discuss all of your option with your laser treatment provider.

  • The building blocks of smooth, youthful skin are elastin and collagen—with laser skin revitalization, pulses of light penetrate the skin’s sub-layers, treating its aging support structure. The body’s natural healing process then rebuilds the tissue, with even texture and fewer wrinkles.

  • The UroFill™ patented technique is based on similar tissue enhancement techniques used on the lips, face, neck or other sensitive areas of the body. The UroFill™ technique is unique in its delivery of the material and its adaptation to the penis.

With over eight years of clinical review, UroFill™ has developed the appropriate technique to safely enhance penile girth. Now, a series of simple, office-based injections can provide almost any penile girth a man may desire. The injections are done under local anesthesia and the patient can return to work immediately after the procedure (without restrictions). In our clinical studies, most patients resumed sexual intercourse after 72 hours.

  • With the help of your health care provider you should be able to accomplish almost any look you desire. The goal is to obtain increased girth without the appearance of anything unnatural. The biophysical properties of UroFill™ closely resemble the normal soft tissues of the penis.

  • Silicone implants and pills can be grouped amongst the other failed attempts to increase penile girth. Our research team could not find clinical references (such as studies, presentations or peer review papers) supporting the use of pills for penile girth enhancement. One single-center study of a silicone graft for girth enhancement had only a small number of respondents and was not statistically significant. Our experience with removing surgically implanted devices has demonstrated a poor anatomical result and difficulties with the mesh used to anchor the device. Regarding Vacuum Erection Devices (VED) – Most literature related to vacuum pumps supports some minimal increases in both length and girth and is a modality that does NOT preclude the use of UroFill™ and the UroFill™ technique.
