Frequent Questions

  • First you will meet with Dr. Eugene Rajaratnam who will gather a medical history, evaluate your concerns and perform a comprehensive examination. Once he determines exosome therapy is right for you, he will schedule your session. Treatment takes 30-60 minutes depending upon the area being treated. Most patients experience significant improvement after just one session. You will be able to resume your normal activities immediately after treatment. Exosome treatment is extremely safe with a very low risk of rejection or negative reaction.

DISCLAIMER: Exosome therapy is not an FDA-approved treatment for any condition or disease and considered experimental. In complying with the law, we are not able to imply or claim that exosome therapy is able to benefit, reverse, or cure any specific disease or degenerative condition. We simply provide exosome therapy as treatment that, when combined with other therapies recommended by your doctor, may improve your quality of life.

  • Organ detoxification is the process of using evidence-based techniques to assist your body’s natural toxin removal process. There are several ways to accomplish this depending on your specific needs. To determine what is right for you, Dr. Rajaratnam will conduct a comprehensive exam and lab tests. He will inquire about your medical history, general health status and lifestyle. Based on that he will determine the best approach to organ detox, which may include:

    • Colonic hydrotherapy – A gentle rinsing and flushing of your colon that gently removes toxic residue and stagnant feces to restore your digestive function and overall wellness.
    • Chelation therapy – Initially used as a treatment for lead poisoning, chelating medications, delivered intravenously or in pill form, binds to heavy metals and toxins, which are then excreted through your urine.
    • Diet modification – Dr. Rajaratnam can determine what changes you need to make to your diet to detox the organs harboring toxins.

Depending upon your specific circumstances, Dr. Rajaratnam may recommend one or a combination of detoxing therapies.

  • During your first visit, you’ll be asked to complete a health history form and consult with the colon hydrotherapist. From there, the procedure is fairly easy, painless and lasts no more than 45 minutes. First, the hydrotherapist will gently insert a disposable tube into the rectum and begin allowing warm water to slowly enter the colon. The water loosens and flushes out fecal matter, which the hydrotherapist can see through a clear window in the colonic machine. This allows her to observe anything of concern, such as parasites or undigested food. She may carefully massage your abdomen to assist in the elimination of lodged waste. Once the hydrotherapy portion of the process is complete, you will have the opportunity to use the bathroom to release any remaining water and feces.

  • It has long been thought that accumulated fecal matter can negatively impact one’s overall health. Some of the conditions that may benefit from the use of colonic hydrotherapy include:

    • Constipation
    • Reducing or eliminating harmful bacteria or yeast
    • Releasing stagnant toxins that can leach into the bloodstream
    • Kick-starting weight loss
    • Improving absorption of water, vitamins and nutrients
    • Clearer skin
    • Better mental focus
  • Medical professionals have relied on IV therapy as a safe and respected method of delivering fluids, medications, and nutrients for more than 100 years.

IV nutrient therapy is comprised of a combination of vitamins, minerals and amino acids that target your specific needs. Infusing the therapy directly into your bloodstream bypasses the gastrointestinal system, which is better for absorption and eliminates the possibility of stomach upset.

  • Medical Director Eugene Rajaratnam, MD, can customize the exact IV treatment that is right for you. Here are some of the concerns IV nutrition therapy can address:

    • Fatigue
    • Dehydration
    • Hangover
    • Endurance
    • Detoxification
    • Skin, hair and nail conditions
    • Digestion
    • Immune system boost
    • Tissue repair
    • Recovery from illness, injury or surgery

Even if you have a feeling of general malaise or just don’t feel “quite yourself,” IV nutrient therapy can help you feel your best.

  • IV nutrient therapy is a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. Once you are settled into a comfortable chair at the California Wellness Institute, Dr. Rajaratnam will insert a very small IV needle into your vein. For the next 20-60 minutes, you can relax until the infusion is complete. During this time, you can read, nap, listen to music or browse your phone. You will likely experience immediate benefits from the infusion, including feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and energized.

Some patients require a series of IV nutrient therapy sessions to achieve optimal results. Dr. Rajaratnam will recommend the right treatment for you.

  • There are many reasons a person might have hormonal imbalance or decline. While menopause is one of the most common causes of hormonal decline, men also experience a decline in hormone production as they age. No matter the cause, a hormonal imbalance can lead to a wide range of symptoms, including:

    • Weight gain or trouble losing weight
    • Loss of muscle mass
    • Fatigue
    • Hot flashes and night sweats
    • Mood changes and irritability
    • Depression and anxiety
    • Disrupted sleep or insomnia
    • Memory loss and reduced concentration
    • Loss of libido
    • Painful sex (vaginal dryness)
    • Erectile dysfunction

You don’t need to accept any of these conditions as a normal part of aging.

  • You’ll start with a thorough consultation, physical exam and blood tests provided by Dr. Rajaratnam. He will inquire about your symptoms, medical history, overall health and lifestyle. Blood tests will reveal any hormonal imbalances as well as other conditions that could cause similar symptoms.

If a hormonal imbalance is the root cause of your symptoms, Dr. Rajaratnam will prescribe a bioidentical hormone replacement regimen. Depending on your needs, he may recommend an oral medication, implant or topical cream. You will follow-up with Dr. Rajaratnam regularly to review your symptoms, reevaluate your hormone levels, and adjust your dose as needed.

  • Yes. Anyone who has a history of blood clots should not use BHRT. Additionally, it is not recommended for women who have unexplained vaginal bleeding or a history of breast, ovarian, or endometrial cancer.
